Erika Schipa

ERIKA is dancer, performer and choreographer.
She has a bachelor in contemporary dance c/o National Academy of Dance in Rome and a
Master in Performing Art c/o ISAC, Institute D’Art et Chorégraphie in Académie Royal des Beaux-Arts de
Bruxelles. She obtained a Master in Dance Pedagogy  graduated with honors, with a dissertation In not formal and ecological approach to the methodology of contemporary dance, at National Academy of Dance in Rome.

In 2014 She made a video-performance in collaboration with Gianluca Colitta, Erika danst Rosas danst Rosas for Re: ROSAS Remix Projectshown in Kaaitheater Gallery and chosen from Anne Teresa Der Keersmaker to be performed in live version for Brussel Danst 2014.

In 2016 She created Space In – solo Version, exhibited for Connected, in Central – Center For Contemporary Art, in Brussels. Space In has been shown in Milan for NAOperforming Festival 2016.

In 2017 Erika developed a duo version, S I – T, Space In -Two in collaboration with Betti Rollo. S I-T has been supported from  Jonah Bokaer Art Foundation New York.  S I-T has been performed for A Maglie Larghe, Festival for Performing Art, Palo Del Colle, in The Exponential festival in Brooklyn, (January 2019), Women of Resistance (August 2019) in The Hudson Eye festival in Hudson, NY.

In 2018 Erika created Soft Body performance for Berlin Alexanderplatz exhibition, in Galerie L’Eté 78,  Brussels.

In 2019, She performed Estasi in Santa Maria della Nova, a deconsacrated Baroque Church, in Lecce, for Sorsi di Cultura Festival.

Since July 2021 she is guest teacher for Summer School Shakespeare and the Mediterranean, in University of Verona. She gives regularly contemporary dance workshop with an eco-somatic approach to the dance methodology.

Erika is also a yoga teacher, certified from Siddhi Yoga in Dharamasala, India, associated with Yoga Alliance.
